Minister of State at the Department of Finance
The Minister of State at the Department of Finance is a junior ministerial post in the Department of Finance of the Government of Ireland. The Minister works together with the Minister for Finance and has special responsibility for the Office of Public Works which oversees the preservation of government and historic buildings. The Minister of State does not hold cabinet rank. The position was created on 1 January 1978, replacing the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance.
The current incumbent is Simon Harris, TD, who took office in July 2014.[1]
