Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland
The Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland was a 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow gauge[1] railroad attraction in Frontierland in Disneyland, that featured Audio-Animatronic animals that live in the desert themed in the environment they live in naturally.[2] It opened in 1960 as an extension of Rainbow Caverns Mine Train, which opened in 1956. It closed in 1979 to make room for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a themed roller coaster. There are many tributes to the Mine Train through Natures Wonderland in Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It shared an area with the Conestoga Wagons, the Pack Mule Train, and the Stagecoach rides, all of which no longer exist, but it was the only attraction to go through Rainbow Caverns. Additionally, if you boarded the attraction at 8:50pm, the train would stop in the middle and you would be able to watch the fireworks from the middle of Natures Wonderland.
