Mind–body interventions
Mind–body interventions is the name of a U.S. National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) classification that covers a variety of techniques intended by practitioners to use the mind capacity to affect bodily function and symptoms. Many of these techniques are best described as alternative medicine, including meditation and prayer, and therapies that use creative outlets such as art, music, or dance. Other interventions have now become mainstream (for example, patient support groups and cognitive-behavioral therapy). Bodymind therapies on the other hand, have a fundamentally different concept and approach in their intervention practices.
