Minatochō Station (港町駅 Minatochō-eki) is a railway station operated by Keikyū Daishi Line located in Kawasaki ward, Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is located 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) from the terminus of the Daishi Line at Keikyū Kawasaki Station.

History

Minatochō Station opened on March 21, 1932 as a temporary stop on the Keihin Electric Railway, the predecessor to the current Keihin Electric Express Railway. Initially named Columbia-mae Station (コロムビア前駅 Koromubia-mae-eki) after the adjacent Columbia Records factory and recording studios, it was located 300 metres (980 ft) further away from Keikyū Kawasaki Station than the present location. It renamed to its present name on February 1, 1944. On October 18, 1956, the station was moved to its present address. In April 1977, the former level crossing was eliminated by the completion of an overpass.
