Mike "Boogie" Malin (born July 16, 1970) is an American actor and television personality who is known for his numerous appearances on the reality show Big Brother.

Before appearing once on Yes, Dear, Malin was a contestant on the reality show Big Brother U.S.. He formed an alliance with another contestant, Dr. William "Will" Kirby, and the pair were known as the "Chill Town"; the alliance would be revisited in a later season of the show. On the 33rd day of the competition, Malin was evicted by a vote of 4-1. He finished 8th place overall. He was evicted from the house prior to the 9/11 terror attacks, watching television news coverage from the safety and comfort of the back room at Les Deux.
Big Brother 7
Following his guest appearance on Yes, Dear, Malin returned, as a bargaining chip for his "Chill Town" partner Dr. Will Kirby, for the "all-star" edition of Big Brother. The season featured contestants from preceding seasons who were notable in addition to Malin. "Chill Town" partner Dr Will Kirby came in fourth place, getting evicted by a sole vote who was also his Big Brother showmance Janelle. Malin lasted 72 days and won the season, by a vote of 6-1, earning the show's $500,000 prize.
Big Brother 14
Malin returned to Big Brother for its fourteenth season, as a mentor and coach, along with three other former players. He served as coach to three new contestants, and he competed against the other coaches for their own separate prize. This marks the second time Malin played the game with fellow All-Star houseguest Janelle Pierzina. On August 23, 2012, Malin was evicted by a 5-2 vote, becoming the last player evicted before jury and finishing in 10th place overall.
Boogie most notably coached fan favorite contestant Jenn City, but also became acquaintances with Frank "The Tank" Eudy and Ian Terry of Rob Has a Podcast fame. He ultimately won the coaches competition, despite coming in 10th in the real game.
Mike has played in the Big Brother house for a total of 153 days, the second highest number of days spent in the house behind Janelle Pierzina's 177 days.
Television and film career
Aside from a minor guest appearance on Yes, Dear, Malin has a number of television credits to his name, including non-speaking roles on Seinfeld, Friends, where he also worked as a stand-in for Matthew Perry, in addition to short-lived programs such as Jack and Jill, Monk, The View, Monk (U.S. TV series), and The Parkers.
He also had small roles in the films Chump Change (2000), Psycho Beach Party (2000), Robbie's Brother (2001) and Fishes (2001), though these appearances are disputed by the Screen Actors Guild.
Malin appeared at the Fox Reality Really Awards, the All-Star Reality Re-union, Battle of the Network Reality Stars, and has appeared on Extra and Access Hollywood. In 2007 he appeared on Dr. 90210 where his "Chill Town" alliance member removed Malin's genital wart. The Fox Reality Channel has since ceased operations.
He appeared in the Enrique Iglesias music video for Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song). In 2010 he appeared in the action film Gun, starring 50 Cent and Val Kilmer, in the role of Agent Monroe.
In 2011, Malin appeared with his business partner, Lonnie Moore, in the VH1 reality program Famous Food, where 7 celebrities compete for the chance to co-own and operate a new restaurant on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip. Malin appeared as one of the two owners of the planned new restaurant whose planning and opening was the subject of the program. The new restaurant, named The Lemon Basket, is now open and operates as part of Malin's The Dolce Group.[1]
He is also a member of the National Basketball Association's Entertainment League, a celebrity basketball team.
In July of 2014, Malin made his second appearance on three-time Podcast Award winning Rob Has a Podcast to discuss the latest season of Big Brother. He gave host Rob Cesternino the exclusive announcement that CBS was reviving Yes, Dear for a 12-episode limited event series called Anthony Clark Presents: Yes, Dear: Dominic Goes to College in which Malin will reprise his role of Marvin. Andrea Anders will also play a supporting role.
Restaurant operator
In 2001, Malin and a long-time friend Lonnie Moore opened a small tapas lounge on a strip of Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles.[1] While the original bar, Belly, flopped, it grew into The Dolce Group which maintains several restaurants varying in style and cuisine in California and DC.
The company's restaurant and bar brands include the Italian restaurant Dolce, the "classic American" restaurant Ketchup, a modern Japanese restaurant Geisha House, the western tapas bar Johnny Smalls and the nightclub Les Deux, a club which was notably patronized between 2004 and 2006 by a number of LA's high-profile celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Ashton Kutcher.
The Dolce Group, and Malin, appeared on the VH1 reality show, Famous Food.[1]
Malin is also partners with Will Kirby in the laser tattoo removal clinic called "Dr. Tattoff."
Personal Life
Malin was born Michael Robert Carri on July 16, 1970 and raised in Concord, New Hampshire. In May 1988, in perhaps his earliest official performing role, he co-rapped the Run–D.M.C. single "Sucker M.C.'s" at the Concord High School Spring Variety Show along with classmate Kevin Beck. He left New Hampshire to pursue his education, and enrolled in Bentley College, in Waltham, Massachusetts. At Bentley, Malin majored in finance and was active in the college's theater program.
Malin now has a son, Brady.
Controversy
In 1996 Malin was arrested under his real name, Michael Carri, and charged with trespassing at the lot of Warner Brothers Pictures and using false identification. He and friends had secretly filmed and taken pictures of Batman & Robin.[2]
On January 23, 1997, Carri pleaded no contest to carrying counterfeit government-issued ID, trespass and property damage, and malicious mischief. He was sentenced to three years' probation, fined $100, and ordered to do 400 hours of community service.[3] It was this offense that first brought him to the attention of Big Brother casting director Robyn Kass.
Malin was arrested again in late October 2007 and charged with assault after attending the 2007 World Series between Red Sox and the Colorado Rockies in Denver. Malin spent 15 hours behind bars before he was released on bail.[4]
On August 1, 2011 Malin filed a lawsuit in Superior Court against the law firm Lavely and Singer, accusing the firm or someone acting on their behalf of hacking into his email as well as his phone. Also included in the lawsuit was one of Malin's business partners Shereen Arazm. Two days after Malin filed his lawsuit, Arazm filed a suit against Malin, accusing Malin and another business partner, Lonnie Moore, of embezzlement of funds from Geisha House LLC, a restaurant group that included Malin and Arazm as investors.[5]
