Miguel Perez (born September 7, 1957) is an American actor known for his work in various television appearances.

Personal life

Pérez was born Arnoldo Cruz Perez in San Jose, California, the son of a telephone repairman and a housewife.[1] Growing up, he was a lonely child who was teased by his peers for being obese. Consequently, he got involved in sports and pursued football and wrestling at Caroline Davis junior high and at Andrew P. Hill high school until a spinal infection put him in a body cast and on the sidelines. He joined the drama club in his sophomore year and began his interest in Theatre. Miguel dropped out of San Jose State University and joined the Marines in 1975. Honorably discharged in 1979, Miguel moved to New York City to begin a career in the Theatre. The National Shakespeare Company was his training ground, followed by stints in many regional theatres as well as Off-Broadway.

Career

With over 50 appearances towards his credit, Perez is known for his work in such television shows as: The Wonder Years, Beverly Hills, 90210, Chicago Hope, Frasier (Carlos 'The Barracuda' Del Gato) 24 (Ranger Mike Kramer), and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. However his most reputed role was Luis in an episode of Seinfeld ("The Cheever Letters"). In the episode, he played a Cuban man who dealt Cuban Cigars to Cosmo Kramer in return for his jacket. He became friends with Luis and his gang and they even became golf partners in Westchester County.
