Miguel Guerra

Miguel Guerra is an illustrator and writer, best known for his graphic novel series, Samurai Elf. He is also a featured artist in Heavy Metal Magazine.[1]

Miguel has translated 14 titles for NBM Publishing and is currently a translator for Heavy Metal Magazine.

Biography

Miguel Guerra was born in Madrid to a Spanish mother and an American father. He grew up in Alcalá de Henares, northeast of Madrid. At the age of 8 his family moved to Canada.

Guerra obtained his first art-related job as a teenager, apprenticing with an artist who created and etched illustrations onto granite tombstones. Since then, he’s created pin-ups, short stories, web art, and logos for various publishers and companies.

He currently resides in New York City with his wife and co-writer, Suzy Dias.

Current projects

In 2006, Miguel and Suzy decided to launch Iberian Press. Their first endeavor was to self-publish Samurai Elf, a 7 part graphic novel adventure/fantasy/humor series. 2007 will see the publication of Samurai Elf: Gathering Storm (book 2), and Alric the Wild!, an ongoing graphic novel for all ages, where a boy raised by wolves and his best friend, the Monkey King, wreak havoc in the ancient world.

Translations

Miguel is also a Spanish translator for Heavy Metal Magazine and NBM Publishing. Books to his credit include, Dark Labyrinth by Luis Royo, Fantastic Art by Luis Royo, and Daily Delirium by Miguelanxo Prado.
