Microtropis zeylanica is a species of plant in the Celastraceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka. Leaves are opposite and variable, rotund to narrowly oval, rounded to subcordate base, margins entire, revolute. The trunk is very branched; twigs somewhat angular. Its flowers are white, sessile; Inflorescence - small dense axillary clusters, and its fruits are ovoid, apiculate, with a scurfy capsule, tapering to the apex. It is occurs naturally in montane forest understories.
