Michael "Mike" Latta (born May 25, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Latta was selected by the Nashville Predators in the 3rd round (72nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Playing career

Prior to turning professional, Latta played major junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Ottawa 67's and Guelph Storm.[1]

On April 14, 2010, the Nashville Predators signed Latta to a three-year entry-level contract.[2] He played three seasons with the Predator's minor league affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

During the 2012–13 season, on April 3, 2013, at the NHL trade deadline, he was traded by the Predators to the Washington Capitals along with Martin Erat, in exchange for Filip Forsberg.[3]

He made his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals in the 2013-2014 season. Latta scored his first goal on November 15th, 2013 against the Detroit Red Wings.
