His own productions are championed by the planet's finest house music aficionados. Michael Canitrot's musical style has become widely known as an eclectic, rhythmic and melodic blend of House, Pop and Modern Disco. However, Michael grew up listening to Soul, Funk, Disco and Rock and is widely travelled, all factors that are reflected in his music. As a producer, Michael first received commercial success with his single 'Desire', released on Defected Records in 2010. Michael then signed to Hed Kandi,[2] sub label of the global Ministry of Sound brand and released of his follow-up single 'You and I'. Most recently, Canitrot released the commercial house cross-over track 'When You Got Love' featuring Ron Carroll. Michael also mixed on the Defected's 'Playboy Session'[3] in 2012, joining the likes of Bob Sinclar, Dimitri from Paris, Tensnake, Masters at Work and many other world class DJ’s who have been given the honor to mix a Defected compilation.

A large part of Michael's career revolves around film and fashion and the marriage of these industries with music. Canitrot creates custom sound designs for luxury brands such as Dior, Chanel, Cartier, Versace, D&G and Prada, and provides live music and performance for some of the worlds most prestigious catwalk shows. In 2003, Michael also became the first official DJ of the International Cannes Film Festival.[4]

The concept for the clubnight 'So Happy In Paris' was created by Michael Canitrot at Les Bains Douches. In the early days it moved around different Parisian venues, igniting the dancefloors of the capital's clubs. Ten years on, the clubnight has gone worldwide and features an array of dancers, live vocalists and musicians.

With its luxury angle and glamorous vibes it’s easy to forget the roots of this phenomenal party: it started as an intimate gathering for Parisians who shared a love of good music. And while the party's production budget may have boomed and become more flamboyant over the years, make no mistake, it's still all about the music. After a unique event on top of the Eiffel Tower to celebrate the 10 years anniversary of 'So Happy In Paris’,[6] Michael and his team decided in 2013 to take over the renowned Olympia theatre and turn it into a party venue for one night only alongside international DJ’s and singers.

Surprising people and doing events in unexpected and historical places have always been something important to Canitrot. "With 'So Happy In Paris', we've always paid attention to the details – our first flyer for the night won an award for flyer of the year in France", says Michael. "But what I really love about the parties is the opportunity to perform alongside live musicians and DJ alongside some of my all time heroes – like House Music legend Dennis Ferrer."
