Miass River

Miass River (Russian: Миасс; IPA: [mʲɪˈas], Bashkir: Мейәс) is a river on the eastern side of the Ural Mountains.

It is a tributary of the Iset and forms part of the Ob River system.[1]

It passes through Chelyabinsk.[2]

Name

The name Miass is taken from the Bashkirs (Bashkir: Мейәс), the indigenous inhabitants of the region.
