Miami Riverwalk

The Miami Riverwalk along the Miami River

The Miami Riverwalk is a pedestrian walkway located in Downtown Miami, Florida. It extends along the north side of the Miami River and the Biscayne Bay through Bayfront Park. It begins at Bayside Marketplace and ends at the Riverwalk Metromover Station and is about one mile long.[1] The Riverwalk is a part of a broader project known as the Miami River Greenway which also includes an incomplete greenway on along the south side of the river.[2] Many shops and cafes are located along the riverwalk, and it was recently redone with public artwork.[3] The riverwalk passes under the Brickell Avenue Bridge, built in 1915, carrying Brickell Avenue. The Riverwalk itself was built in the 1980s.<ref name=TSME1980">Transportation System Management Element 1980 Update. Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Miami Urbanized Area.
