Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission
Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission (MSFC) is the owner and operator of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis. The MSFC was established in 1977, by the Minnesota Legislature. The MSFC consists of seven members. Six are appointed by the Minneapolis City Council, and the chair is appointed by the Governor of Minnesota and cannot live in Minneapolis.
As part of the May 2012 law funding the new Vikings stadium, the legislature abolished the MSFC, giving the commission 90 days to transfer its assets to its successor organization, the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority.[1]
