Metropolitan Meat Market
The Metropolitan Meat Market in Melbourne, Australia, is a former market building that also incorporates a hotel. It was designed by George Johnson and completed in 1874. It is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register since 1973.[1] Currently it serves as an events venue.
History
In 1977 the building was acquired by the state government and transformed into an arts centre, inaugurated in 1979. In 2004 the building has been refurbished and altered to include more office space.[2]
