Metriber[1] (Metriber.com) is an Indian media network founded by Shahnawaz Akhtar in 2011. The prime motto of Metriber is to provide a transparent information sharing platform, i.e. anyone can contribute articles to Metriber through simple registration process. Articles created by the general public are checked for spam and citations are required before they are published in proper category pool.
History
Metriber started in 2011 as a blog for sharing the latest updates and trends in various media spheres such as Business, Technology, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Literature, Fashion & Politics etc. At its inception, authors and contributors were registered offline. Soon, requests for article contribution started to increase and from September 2013 online registration of contributors started on the website. On 21 December 2013, website was restructured from blog to community contributed media network.
Content Reliability
Content created on Metriber is of mainly six types; Announcements, Reports, Research, Views, Reviews, Interviews etc. Each of these types of approved by offline registered expert authors through multiple source and citation check, until which it is held in pending state. Once content is approved, only then it is streamed on Front end of Metriber.
Contributors Incentive
Contributors register through Facebook, Twitter or Manual Entry, after which they need to create their complete profile by entering biography, contact information etc. Author's image is pulled from Gravatar. All contributors are displayed in streams along with their articles. Anyone who want to know more about author can see their complete profile by clicking on their image in article stream.
Audience
Metriber has three pools of audience i.e. Direct audience, Social Media Audience, Aggregated Content Audience. The major part of Direct audience comes through Organic Search, Direct visits and third party links. Social Media Audience comes through content shared by visitors on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest etc. Aggregated content Audience are those which visit through link in various content aggregation networks.
Publications
Since January 2014, Metriber is Publishing an Bi-annual Online Magazine name Intrigue.[2] As like Metriber, Intrigue is also a community driven publication, except that rules for content selection is more strict in case of Intrigue. Intrigue's contains a variety of content categories like Lifestyle, Entertainment, Travels, Psychedelics, Music, Technology, Business and Entertainment. From issue of December 2014, Intrigue is expected be released in print version also.
