The Mesabi Range College (MRC) is a two-year college with campuses in Virginia, Minnesota and Eveleth, Minnesota, United States. Students in the Virginia High School and other neighboring school districts can receive college credits also by taking classes there.
MRC offers an A.A. Degree as well as numerous technical programs such as: Industrial Mechanical Technology (Millwright), Welding, Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education, Welding, Practical Nursing, Graphic Design Media, and more.
MRC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The college has opportunities for both men and women as well as intramural activities. The athletic teams include: men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, football, baseball, softball, and volleyball.
History
Previously, the school was named Mesabi Range Community and Technical College but underwent a name change in January 2014.
Accreditation
Mesabi Range College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Ongoing City Code Violation Controversy
The college has for many years disregarded City Code, Section 7.05,[1] and may find itself facing upwards of 20 years of back charges to the city for failure to properly remove snow accumulations.
