Mercury City Tower (Russian: Меркурий Сити Тауэр) is a 75-story skyscraper in Moscow. Located in the Moscow International Business Center, construction started in 2009. The building topped out at 338.8 m (1,112 ft) on 1 November 2012, overtaking The Shard in London as Europe's tallest building.[5]
Construction
In May 2011, the developer announced that Mercury City Tower had reached 230 m (750 ft), with over half of the external walls covered in copper coloured cladding. The construction exceeded the 301.6 m (990 ft) of City of Capitals tower, also in Moscow, on 17 January 2012. On 25 July 2012, the 75th level was under construction. The tower was initially expected to be completed in late 2012.[6]
According to its development company, the building was topped out at 339 m (1,112 ft) on 1 November 2012.[5]
