Melville S. Green

Melville Saul Green (born 1922-died 27 March 1979[1]) was a statistical physicist. Green is known for the Green-Kubo relations. He also worked on the Bogoliubov–Born–Green–Kirkwood–Yvon hierarchy,[2] which however is not named for him, but for Herbert S. Green.

Green is also known as a co-editor of an influential review series, Phase transitions and critical phenomena.

Green graduated from Princeton University and spent most of his career at the then National Bureau of Standards.
