Melanochromis elastodema is a species of cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi where it only occurs around Chisumulu Island in areas with large rocks and slabs and has been introduced to Thumbi West Island.[1] This species can grow to a length of 6.7 centimetres (2.6 in) SL.[2]
