Melanie L. George Smith[1] (born November 7, 1972) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives since January 14, 2003 representing District 5.[2]
Education
Smith earned her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and her JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
Elections
- 2012 Smith was unopposed for both the September 11, 2012 Democratic Primary and the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 8,027 votes.[3]
- 2002 With Democratic Representative Helene Keeley running in District 3, George won the District 5 September 9, 2002 Democratic Primary with 376 votes (91.9%),[4] and was unopposed for the November 5, 2002 General election, winning with 2,777 votes.[5]
- 2004 George was unopposed for both the September 11, 2004 Democratic Primary and the November 2, 2004 General election, winning with 6,102 votes.[6]
- 2006 As Melanie George Marshall, she was unopposed for both the September 12, 2006 Democratic Primary and the November 7, 2006 General election, winning with 3,568 votes.[7]
- 2008 Again as Melanie George Marshall, she was unopposed for both the September 9, 2008 Democratic Primary and the November 4, 2008 General election, winning with 7,212 votes.[8]
- 2010 George was unopposed for both the September 17, 2010 Democratic Primary and the November 2, 2010 General election, winning with 4,921 votes.[9]
