Melamchi is a village in Sindhupalchok District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3936 and had 710 houses in the village.[1]
Government of Nepal has initiated a drinking water project called Melamchi water supply project to Kathmandu Valley.
2015 Nepal earthquake
The village was affected by the earthquake on 25 April 2015. A joint coordination committee among all political parties in the three constituencies of the Sindhupalchok district was formed to carry out a rescue mission in the village.[2]
