Meiwa (明和町 Meiwa-machi) is a town in Ōra District, Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
As of February 1, 2012. the town has an estimated population of 11,184 and a population density of 568.6 persons per km². The total area is 19.67 km2 (8 sq mi).
Geography
Meiwa is located in the south-eastern part of Gunma Prefecture. It is 11 km (7 mi) long from east to west and 3 km (2 mi) long from north to south, and has a total area of 19.67 km2 (8 sq mi).

- 1889 - Sanuki village, Umeshima village, and Chieda village are created in Ōra District
- 1955 - Sanuki village, Umeshima village, and Chieda village are united, creating Meiwa village
