Mehwish Maqsood (Urdu: مہوش مقصود) is a Pakistani singer and reality programs competitor. Famously known for her first reality show Pakistan Idol.[1] Mehwish is a Folk-classical singer hails from a non-music background. She was one of the 13 finalist of currently running Pakistani reality singing competition Pakistan Idol. She was the first finalists who eliminates in finals coming to 13th position.[2]

Personal life

Mehwish Maqsood born to a Muslim Family in Lahore. She holds a degree in Arts, from early age she started singing and had participated in many programs at regional level. Her voice has a texture of roughness and folk touch. She also appear in PTV Home late night show Virsa.

Pakistan Idol

Mehwish Maqsood auditioned for Pakistan Idol in Lahore Auditions, Judges were enthralled by Mehwish singing and Ali Azmat gave her a standing ovation, she was criticized positively by audience and judges.[3] She was eliminated after achieving public votes in semi-finals but saved by judges by using their Judges choice contestants power. In final race of 13 Finalists Mehwish eliminate after getting lowest votes than Waqas Ali and Muhammad Shoaib, and became the first finalist to eliminate from the show.[4]
