Megan Jones (née Hess) is the Iowa State Representative from the 2nd District. A Republican, she has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2013.

As of January 2013, Jones serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Education, Environmental Protection, and Human Resources committees. She also serves as the vice chair of the Judiciary committee and as a member of the Justice System Appropriations Subcommittee.

Biography

Jones is serving her first second in the Iowa House. Originally born and raised in Harlan she presently resides in Spencer where she works with Hemphill Law Office, PLC.

After graduating from Spencer High School, Jones attended Drake University. She balanced a full-time job with her studies and graduated with degrees in Law, Politics and Society and Business. She then went on to earn her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.

Jones is a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She is active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Spencer Daybreakers Kiwanis group. Elected as Megan Hess, she married Will Jones in 2014[2]
