Medical commission

A medical commission is a committee generally formed by a sport governing body or government or quasi-governmental agency, e.g., a National Governing Body NGB, or International Federation IF, which sets medical policy and oversees the health of all the athletes participating in that body's sport, or set up to review medical/health conditions in a crises, e.g. in Bhopal's disaster, or the Christian Medical Commission, which was established in 1968 as a semiautonomous body to assist the World Council of Churches in its evaluation of and assistance with church-related medical programs in the developing world.^[1] If the sport is one recognized by the International Olympic Committee,^[2] then they are subject to, and responsible to enforce their rules as well as those of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
