Medenine (Arabic: مدنين Madanīyīn) is one of the 24 governorates (provinces) of Tunisia. It is situated in south-eastern Tunisia. It covers an area of 8,588 km² and had a population of 479,520 at the 2014 census.[1] The governorate includes the offshore island of Djerba, but the capital is Medenine, located on the mainland.
