Mechtilde of the Blessed Sacrament

Mechtilde of the Blessed Sacrament (birth name Catherine de Bar, 1614–1698), was born at Saint-Dié, Lorraine in northeastern France. At first an Annunciade nun and then a Benedictine, in 1654 she founded the Order of the Benedictine Nuns of the Perpetual Adoration in Paris. This was the first society formally organized for the Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament[1][2][3]
