Mauro Gabriel Airez (born 26 October 1968) is an Argentine retired footballer who played as a striker. He participated in the 1988 Summer Olympics, and later appeared for the Argentina national team.
Club career
Airez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, starting his professional career at Gimnasia La Plata, his most successful period of his career, age 19 to age 22, where he played all of his games for Argentina. He later moved to Portugal, where he stayed 6 seasons at Belenenses, moving in 1995 to Benfica, being notable for scoring in the Portuguese Cup final of 1995-96.[1][2]
