Mattressman is a mattress and bed retailer from East Anglia in the United Kingdom. The company was founded in 2004 by Andrew Kerry, a local entrepreneur. Mattressman provides its services online and via a national chain of stores including most noteworthily; Ipswich, Peterborough and Norwich.[1]

Awards

Mattressman has won a number of awards including the title of Britain's 100th Fastest Growing Company in 2009 for the Sunday Times Fast Track 10000 and the EDP E-Commerce Initiative Award,[2] most recently in 2011.

Other Projects

In July 2012 a sister company of Mattressman was launched, christened The British Bed Company.[4] The British Bed Company makes mattresses and divans from quality British materials, selling to both trade[5] and domestic. British Bed Company products are sold on Mattressman.[6]

Advertising

Mattressman bases a large amount of advertising around the Mattressman character[7] with advertising campaigns over radio and television,[8] most recently sponsoring Peter Andre and Kerry Katona shows on ITV.

Stores

After selling online successfully, Mattressman opened its first store in North Walsham in 2005. Since then, over 10 stores have been opened across the UK, including stores in London, Lincolnshire, Norwich, Cambridge, and Ipswich.[9]

In November 2013, Mattressman launched a new, responsive design website,[10] built using Bootstrap. The responsive design allows the site to function fully on tablet, mobile, and desktop.[11]

Community

The Mattressman mascot often makes appearances in the local Norfolk community, with the company sponsoring Peterborough Football Club.[12] The mascot is also used to represent the company in other events, such as the Worstead Festival.[13]
