Matthews Point

Matthews Point (54°2′S 37°58′W / 54.033°S 37.967°WCoordinates: 54°2′S 37°58′W / 54.033°S 37.967°W) is a point forming the west side of the entrance to Undine Harbour, along the south coast and near the west end of South Georgia. It was charted in the period 1926-30 by Discovery Investigations (DI) personnel and named for British zoologist L. Harrison Matthews, a member of the staff of the DI, 1924–35, who worked at South Georgia in 1924–27.[1]
