Matthew Laurance (born Matthew Dycoff) is a television actor primarily known for his role on Saturday Night Live during its sixth season. He was born in Queens, New York and raised in Long Island, New York. He is the twin brother of Mitchell Laurance.[1] He attended Tufts University. He left SNL after a mere one season that totaled to only 10 episodes. He portrayed bass player Sal Amato in the 1983 cult hit Eddie and the Cruisers, and was the only cast member besides Michael Paré and Michael Antunes to appear in the 1989 sequel Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives!. Matthew also had a small uncredited role in Streets of Fire as one of the two Ardmore cops that entered the bus Tom Cody( Michael Pare ) was on making this the third movie he played in with Michael Pare. He also starred as a detective novelist in Duet on Fox from 1987-89.[1] He also appeared on TV in thirtysomething.[2]
