Matteo Ceccarini (born April 3, 1972) in Milan is an Italian DJ, composer and sound designer.

Early life

In the nineties Matteo began his career as an international deejay [1] in some trendy clubs of Milan, includes La Gare, Shocking Club, Plastic, Hollywood, Armani Privè. In Paris at the Queen Club, La Locomotive and in Bali,Indonesia, where he became resident dj at the Double Six Club in Legian from 1996 to 1999 and at the Cafè Luna for the White Parties.

Matteo has spent many years of his life in Asia, especially in India, to do research on traditional sacred music.

Gianfranco Ferre was his "talent scout" and the designer who introduced him to the world of fashion. In 1993 Matteo began working for some international designers [2] composing music, DJing and sound designing for their shows.[3]

Career

Since 1993 Matteo has composed and played music as dj for fashion designers and parties [4] such as Giorgio Armani, Christian Dior , Vivienne Westwood,[5] Valentino, Gianfranco Ferrè.[6] In the same year, under the pseudonym "Lady Kiova" he composed his first single, "Rotation" on label Klf music.

In 1997 he worked for the actor Richard Gere Richard Gere composing the music for his personal exhibition of pictures pro-Tibet "Zanskar and Tibet".

In 1999, Matteo composed a scandalous soundtrack for the Swish fashion show. Newspapers headlines "Fashion Shock" ! The sound was a blessing of Pope Karol Wojtyla mixed on a performance of Greek actress Irene Papas simulating an orgasm. Matteo was arrested and heard by the authorities. He explained to the court that it was the blessing of procreation.[7] The same year under the pseudonym "Vision" he published an album on the label Edel Music where the song Ponger Star goes into international compilations like Hôtel Costes,Buddha Bar and Nirvana Lounge.

In 2000 he opened the event "Frock 'n' Roll" in Barcelona with a dj set, [8] attended by Nelson Mandela and U2. In 2003, Matteo playing for Mick Jagger private party on the occasion of his 50th birthday.

From 2003 until 2014, he produces the Emporio Armani Caffè and Giorgio Armani Privè compilations.

In 2009, Matteo and his partner Eva Riccobono composed and sang "Labbra" ("Lips"),[9] a song recorded in bed with his partner.[10] The song was a tribute to the anniversary of the thirty years of "Je t'aime moi non plus" Serge Gainsbourg, 1969.

In 2009, the famous photographer Paolo Roversi chose to shot Matteo Ceccarini and Eva Riccobono for "L'Uomo Vogue" celebrities.

In 2012, Matteo composed the song "Petit Essai" that becomes the soundtrack of a film for Jaeger Lecoultre [11] The song is a part of a piano solo mini album called "Ma richesse c'est ma libertè". The same year he composed 2 more songs : "The Tube" and “Dimmi tu cos’è” for the soundtrack of the movie "E la chiamano estate" [12]They Call It Summer by Paolo Franchi. The movie won the Rome International Film Festival Rome International Film Festival. Best director and for best actress.[13]

In 2013 he published the Ep Money Maker, with a cover song of the band The Black Keys,[14] The Ep was recorded and mastered at the Abbey Road Studios Abbey Road Studios London.

2013 is the beginning of the collaboration with the Italian fashion magazine Flair. In his column Matteo interview the international movie directors only by images, without words. His aesthetic sense led him to be chosen to shoot the new international campaign of Jacob Cohen, interrupting the many years of collaboration between the legendary photographer Elliott Erwitt and the fashion brand.[15]

In 2014 he founded the “Deriva Collective”, a collective of artists who deal with sound research and experimentation [16] called sound sculpture.[17][18] The Deriva Collective is based in London.

Personal life

Matteo Ceccarini has a daughter Virginia born in 2001, from his relationship with Floriana Lainati and a son Leo born in London in 2014 with Eva Riccobono. In 2004, in Wien during the Life Ball Event, [19] Matteo meets the Italian top model Eva Riccobono with whom he now lives in London.[20][21]

In 2013 [22] he produced in association with Ginevra Elkann, Ryan Gosling, Babak Jalali, Eva Riccobono the movie "White Shadow" [23] from the director Noaz Deshe who won the Gold Lion of the Future[24][25] at the 70° Venice International Film Festival.[26]
