Matthew Haynes Vogel (born June 3, 1957) is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic gold medalist, and former world record-holder. He competed at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal where he received gold medals in the 100-meter butterfly, and the 4x100-meter medley relay.[1]

Vogel set one world record during his career, in 4x100-meter medley relay.

Vogel is currently the head coach of Fort Wayne Aquatics in Fort Wayne, Indiana.[2] He was formerly the head coach of the Canoe City Swim Club in Old Town, Maine.

Vogel was inducted as an "honor swimmer" into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1996.[3]
