Mathew Gates (born June 29, 1975) is a former American former competitive ice dancer. He is a two-time U.S. national silver medalist with Eve Chalom. After that partnership ended, he teamed up with Emilie Nussear in 2002, and the duo competed at Nationals in 2003. Mathew is former Novice and Junior Champion as well as two-time US World Team member. Mathew is currently a coach and choreographer. He has coached skaters from the beginner level up to the World Championships.

Gates currently works as a coach and choreographer.[1] He is an International Technical Specialist for the United States.[2]
