Mātā Jīto (Gurmukhi: ਮਾਤਾ ਜੀਤੋ, Shahmukhi: ماتا جیتو ) was the wife of the last Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh[1][2][3] The couple had four children together: Zorawar Singh, Jujhar Singh, Fateh Singh, Sahibzada Ajit Singh.
Claims
As per few modern scholars, Mata Jito was renamed as Mata Sundari after marriage. She married the guru in 1684.[4][5] As per scholars, all four Sahibzadas born to Mata Sundri.
The famous Sikh scholars and historians Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha, Bhai Santokh Singh, Giani Gian Singh and Kesar Singh Chibber believes that Mata Jito was first wife and does not supports name changing philosophy. The place where last rites of Mata Jito were performed is present in Anandpur Sahib where the place where Mata Sundri was cremated is present in Delhi.
