Maryburgh (Scottish Gaelic: Baile Màiri) is a village in the Highland council area of Scotland, 2 miles (3 km) south of Dingwall. It is situated on the northern bank of the River Conon. The village of Conon Bridge is on the other side of the river. In 2015, Maryburgh will celebrate its bicentennial year. The results of the 2011 census showed that there were 1175 people living in Maryburgh.

Maryburgh has a number of amenities within its bounds. There is a small shop with a post office, community centre, The Cottage Bar Restaurant, a horse-riding school. The community council also has its own magazine for the community, called the Maryburgh Roundabout.[1]

Transport

Three bus routes, run by Stagecoach, pass through the village. At the north of the village is a junction with the A835, running between Tore and Ullapool.

The nearest train station is the recently re-opened Conon Bridge.

Religion

The only Christian worship centre in the village, is the congregation of Maryburgh Free Church of Scotland. However, Maryburgh's local parish Church of Scotland, Ferintosh Church of Scotland, is in the nearby village of Conon Bridge. There is also a Kingdom Hall for Jehovah's Witnesses in Maryburgh.
