Mary Chapar Moran (born August 1, 1933) is a former mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Mayor of Bridgeport

Moran was the first female mayor of Bridgeport.[1] In 1991 she became famous for filing for municipal bankruptcy.[2]

Moran lost the 1991 election to Mr. Joseph P. Ganim, who was supported by the cousin of her predecessor Mario Testa. Ganim received 15,768 votes compared to 10,951 for Ms. Moran and 2,258 for other candidates.[3]
