Martin Springett

A Canadian illustrator, Martin Springett is mostly noted for his illustrations of Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar Tapestry series.

Springett grew up in England, and moved to Canada in his late teens - where he was employed as a gardener, hospital porter and drove a forklift, while pursuing his interests in guitar and music.[1]

In 1992, Springett was awarded a 1992 Prix Aurora Award for Artistic Achievement, and two years later was presented a Governor General's Award for his illustration of the book Who. On March 17, 2010 Martin visited the Fish Creek and Glenmore Square Branches of the Calgary Public Library. He read to several elementary students from his many works.
