Martin William Kratt (born December 23, 1965) is an American educational nature show host. He and his younger brother Chris grew up in Warren Township, New Jersey,[1] and together created the children's television series Kratts' Creatures and Zoboomafoo, as well as Be the Creature, which runs on the National Geographic Channel and Knowledge Network. They are the main characters on the animated TV series Wild Kratts, which airs on PBS Kids Go!
Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Duke University.[2]
Personal life
Martin is married to Laura Wilkinson and has two sons, Gavin (13) and Ronan (11) both of whom have had roles on Wild Kratts. Gavin Kratt played himself (although unrelated to the Kratt brothers in the show) in many episodes such as "Bass Class," "Happy Turkey Day," "Slider The Otter," "Praying Mantis," and many more. Ronan Kratt played himself (also canonically unrelated to the Kratts) in the same episodes as Gavin including "The Blue and the Grey" and "The Amazing Creature Race." They were shown working on a bat house during "Bat in the Brownies." Martin and his brother Chris are now living in Ottawa, where they film and animate their TV series Wild Kratts.[3]
