Marripudi' is a village and mandal, located in Prakasam district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The nearest Railway Station is Donakonda, which is 46 km from Marripudi. The mandal's population is 38,229 with 19,440 males and 18,789 females.

Location

Located 60 kilometres from Ongole (the district headquarters of Prakasam District), the village is 12 kilometres away from Podili the nearest Taluk. It is situated on the Podili-Tangutur route, off the Ongole-Podili Highway.

Narasimha swamy

The most notable feature of Marripudi is the hill which is situated about 5 km away from the village, and hosts a famous deity - "Narasimha swamy", one of the avatars of Vishnu. Legend has it that the deity was installed 500 years ago by a King at the insistence of "Narasimhaswamy" in his dream. Every year, during the month of 'magh' according to the Telugu calendar, which comes about February-march time, a festival is held on the hill, and thousands of people visit and make a pilgrimage to the hill.

Marripudi is also home to a famous siva temple, which was built in the 17th century.
