Marko Pomerants (born 24 September 1964 in Tamsalu, Lääne-Viru County, Estonia) is an Estonian politician. He is the incumbent Minister of the Environment in Taavi Rõivas' cabinet.
Career history
Pomerants began his political career in the Lääne-Viru County Environmental Department in 1994. A year later he moved on to become the governor (maavanem) of the county for eight years. Entering national politics in 2003, Pomerants was the Minister of Social Affairs from 2003–2005 before becoming a full-time member of Riigikogu from 2005–2009. From 4 June 2009 to 6 April 2011 Pomerants served as the Minister of the Interior.
In 2015 parliamentary election, Pomerants was re-chosen to the parliament with 2,681 individual votes.[4]
