Mark Smith (born 18 August 1981) is an English professional rugby league footballer who has just been signed by Swinton after captaining Widnes in National League One. Primarily a hooker, he previously played in Super League for the Wigan, with whom he won the 2002 Challenge Cup.
Smith played for the Wigan Warriors from the interchange bench in the 2003 Super League Grand Final which was lost to the Bradford Bulls.
Smith has been captain of the Widnes side since the retirement of Terry O'Connor in 2006. He has on very rare occasion spent time during his career playing at loose forward.
