Mark Preston

Mark Preston (born 7 November 1968) is the Team Principal of the Amlin Aguri Formula E racing team and the former Technical Director of the Super Aguri F1 Formula One racing team.

Personal life

Preston was born in Geelong, Australia. He was raised in Melbourne, Australia and moved to the UK in 1996.

Motorsport career

Prior to being with Super Aguri, Preston was employed with Arrows where he was Head of Research and Development until Arrows folded in 2002. Preston then worked with McLaren from 2002-2004 where he was Principal Designer – Structures and then Head of Vehicle Technology Laboratories. He left McLaren in 2004 to set up Preston Racing. Then he helped to start up Super Aguri F1 in 2005 and remained there until the team withdrew from Formula One partway through the 2008 season.

Aguri Suzuki returned with his team in the new Formula E championship, under the name Amlin Aguri, with Preston as Team Principal.
