Mark Baldwin (game designer)

Mark Lewis Baldwin is a computer game designer, most noted for his work on The Perfect General and Empire Deluxe. He has three games on Computer Gaming World's list of the best games of all time.

He has formerly been involved with the management of several games companies, including Quantum Quality Productions, Moto1 where he was vice-president and White Wolf Productions where he was CEO.

Mark received his Bachelors and Masters in Engineering from Purdue University in 1974. This led to a successful career working on the Space Shuttle designing many of the early shuttle flights. Mark’s first published game was a miniatures game published in the 1960s, and as personal computers became available, he shifted his interest in game design from paper to computers. His first published computer game was in 1982, and after several more games, Mark left aerospace to start creating computer games full-time in 1987. Since then he has written, programmed, designed, directed, and/or produced over 30 commercial computer games and has won numerous awards including “Game of the Year”. He also founded several game development companies including Quantum Quality Productions and White Wolf Productions. Mark is currently teaching computer game design and development for several schools, as well as providing consulting services on computer game design, development and management.
