Marie Forleo (born 1975) is an American life coach, motivational speaker, author and web television host.[1][2][3][4][5][6] She is the owner of Marie Forleo International, B-School and MarieTV.[7][8][9]

Early life and education

Forleo, who was raised in New Jersey, graduated from Seton Hall University with a degree in business finance in 1997.[10]

Career

Early career

After graduating from college, Forleo became a trading assistant on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).[7][10] She left the NYSE to work for Gourmet and Mademoiselle.[7][10] Forleo took an online course to learn the skills necessary to coach clients.[7] In 2001, she established a newsletter and gained subscribers and coaching clients from relationships she formed while bartending and instructing fitness and dance classes.[7][11][12] Forleo starred in four bestselling dance videos as a dancer, choreographer and fitness professional.[13] She became one of the first Nike Elite Dance Athletes in 2005.[11]

2008-present

In 2008, Forleo released Make Every Man Want You: How to Be So Irresistible You'll Barely Keep from Dating Yourself!.[14] The book is published in eleven different languages.[4] The following year, she founded Marie Forleo International, a business coaching practice.[2] The company focuses on small business and personal development training for entrepreneurs.[2][11] In 2011, Sir Richard Branson invited Forleo to mentor young entrepreneurs at his Centre for Entrepreneurship.[8] That year, Forleo launched MarieTV, a web television show.[11] She spoke at the Life Is Beautiful conference in 2014.[15]

Forleo's work has been featured in The New York Times, Shape, Healthy & Fit, CNN and Forbes.[13] She has appeared on Tony Robbins' The New Money Masters and has been endorsed by lifestyle author Timothy Ferriss as well as author Kris Carr. She has also appeared on Oprah Winfrey's Super Soul Sunday where the host called Forleo "a thought leader for the next generation."[9][2][3][7][8] Forbes.com listed her website on its list of "Top 100 Websites for Entrepreneurs."[16]

Personal life

Forleo is married to Josh Pais, an acting coach and aspiring actor.
