Dame Marguerite Pindling, GCMG (born 26 June 1932, née McKenzie) is the Governor-General of the Bahamas since 8 July 2014.[1]
Background
She was born to Reuben and Viola McKenzie in South Andros on 26 June 1932.[1] She moved to Nassau in 1946 to live with her sister and attended the Western Senior School.[2] She later became an assistant to photographer Stanley Toogood. Soon after she and Lynden Pindling met; the couple married on 5 May 1956 and remained married until his death on 26 August 2000.[3]
Family and personal life
Dame Marguerite is the widow of Lynden Pindling, Prime Minister of the Bahamas from 1969-1992 the couple had four children.[2]
