Margie Pitts Hames
Margie Pitts Hames was an Atlanta lawyer, perhaps most famously known for her role as the main lawyer who argued the case Doe v. Bolton, the outcome of which was the overturn of the abortion laws existing in the State of Georgia in 1973. Doe, also known as Sandra Cano, would later declare that Margie Pitts Hames had lied to her about the case and that she was unaware a case was opened listing her as a party to the suit.
Margie Pitts Hames died at the age of 60 in Atlanta, Georgia of a heart attack, according to police reports.[1]
