Marcel Ritzmaier (born 22 April 1993 in Judenburg) is an Austrian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Dutch Eredivisie club SC Cambuur, on loan from PSV Eindhoven.[2] His brother Christian is professional footballer for DSV Leoben.[3]

Career

Ritzmaier began his career in December 1997 in the youthside for TuS Spielberg and joined in September 1999 to SV Lobmingtal. After three and a half year with the youth of SV Lobmingtal signed in January 2004 with FC Judenburg. He was one of the key played by FC Judenburg and was in July 2006 scouted from SK Austria Kärnten. Ritzmaier played two and a half year in the youth from SK Austria Kärnten and was here in January 2009 promoted to the reserve team.[4] In July 2009 was called up from the reserve team to the Austrian Football Bundesliga team and played his debut on 2 August 2009 against SK Rapid Wien.[5]

On 2 February 2010 PSV Eindhoven signed the Austrian teenage midfielder from SK Austria Kärnten until 30 June 2012.[6] In 2011 PSV signed Ritzmaier for another two years.

In the 2013-14 season, Ritzmaier started out with PSV's reserve team Jong PSV, playing in their first Eerste Divisie match against Sparta Rotterdam.[7] On 8 August, he was loaned out to SC Cambuur for the remainder of the season.[2]

International career

Ritzmaier played 9 games and scored three goals for the Austria U-17.[8]
