Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya was an Indian soap opera which aired on channel STAR Plus. The series premiered on December 7, 2009. Initially the show received good reviews and viewing figures, but when Ekta Kapoor's Show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain launched on rival channel Sony TV in the same slot, the show fell drastically and couldn't survive against it in terms of TRP's; hence the show was abruptly ended on 27 October 2012.[1] The series is also remade in Tamil language as Puthu Kavithai on STAR Vijay. This series was also telecast in Pakistan on Urdu 1 Channel.
Plot
It is a story of a woman who will go to any length fight for her right. The story is going around two families named Thakur & Saxena family. Krishna belongs to Thakur family, who is known for their power in Allahabad. They believe in superstitions. The Saxena family, however, is different. Though they are traditional, they believe in educating their daughters Pratigya & Arushi (Avantika Hundal) without any hesitation.[2] Krishna & Pratigya eventually fall in love although they seem totally incompatible. Krishna was Pratigya's secret admirer and he forces Pratigya to marry him. In order to protect Pratigya, her brother Adarsh gets married with Komal, sister of Krishna. Pratigya is not satisfied with her marriage. But then she realises Krishna's love for her.Later she falls in love with him and eventually both of them came closer. Samar is son of Shakti Singh Thakur & Kesar. However, Shakti made Kesar mad. Thus, Samar was grown up in auspiciousness of Pratigya. On other side, Shakti gets married second time with Menka (Soni Singh) who wants to usurp property of Thakur family. Gradually a new character of Abimanyu Singh Yadav (Mohit Malik) is introduced, who is illegitimate son of Sajjan Singh.[3] Abhimanyu wants his rights as a son of Sajjan Singh. So he plans a conspiracy against the Thakur Family. On February 19, 2013 pratigya season 2 was announced.
