Provincial Trunk Highway 8 (PTH 8) is a provincial highway in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It runs from the north limit of the City of Winnipeg (where it meets with Route 180/McPhillips Street) north to Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park.
The highway between Winnipeg and PR 230 is known as McPhillips Street. At PR 230, McPhillips Street becomes McPhillips Rd and continues as PR 230 until PTH 9, Selkirk By-pass.
PTH 8 and PR 230 were formerly Highway 9, and most of PTH 9 was formerly Highway 4. Originally, all Highway 8 had was a route between Hecla Island and Highway 9, and Highway 9 was just a road from Gimli to Selkirk. In the late-1980s, the highways were renumbered to their present status.
The route is a major road connecting Winnipeg with the communities of Gimli and Winnipeg Beach. The speed limit is 100 km/h (60 mph).
